I Want to Be The Guy: The movie, the game. Gnome Style

There are moments in life when one wants to play a major challenge. It may be climbing the Himalayas, reaching the bottom of a marine trench, surviving for seven days at random somewhere on the planet, or afford to beat one of the world's toughest games.

Hidden under the face of a game tribute to our earliest times of the NES, it comes from the hand of Kayin, a program designed to meet the need of the latter, and his name is I Want to Be The Guy .

With an introduction parody of Megaman 2, this game is pretty special. It is easily the game platforms have played harder (defeating Kaizo Mario for me leading this category), but unlike what you might think, this game want to follow. Want to know what comes after the part where you died. Curiosity kills you to know what evil lurks trap you on the next screen. But we split.

Programmed with Multimedia Fusion 2, this game began as a preparation of the author before jumping to more serious games. The aim was to create one of the toughest games in the world, but it was passable. Of course. A game that is impossible to defeat it is not fun. Helped / supported by other friends, Kayin Further progress with the game and becoming more and more and more, finishing with an astonishing piece of software we have here.

Special attention should be paid to the different taxes included in the game. From Battletoads, to Megaman, Ghosts and Goblins passed, Castlevania, Tetris, Kirby, Metroid, etc.

From the first scene in which a wall full of thorns crushed if you're not careful, you can get an idea of \u200b\u200bthe tone of the whole game. Kayin was very meticulous in the traps prepared. Imagine the following situation. A group of platforms appear from nowhere, and disappear out of nowhere, as the stage of fire Megaman 2. You lose because you do not know the pattern. Wait, memorize it, and play again, just to percatarte that the pattern was reversed.

Is that cruel? Give a look at the spines that move to touch on the very spot where you've jumped to the bugs with the face of "Imma firin mah Laz0r!" Laser light on the stage of Megaman when you take the path to Bowser, to the wall of thorns that is chasing you (and if evading, missed), the jumping chairs, a giant moon chasing you, among other equally evil traps.

But Why keep a game so hard? Why go something like that is made only for humble? Unlike
of the videos for "Let's play " that abound in youtube, I devoted myself to get the mother to the author while playing, because I knew what was coming to expose. On the other hand, when you lose you have three choices: Either it's your fault, you were not able to properly coordinate your move. May be the fault of the game, which requires moving the time and did not, or it may be that out of nothing and inexplicably appeared a trap so unexpected that makes you laugh.

Are these traps and made to watch The Kid succumbing to them, which will make you laugh when you come and stay with the question "What will happen later?". Play, it is difficult to the extreme and when finally you reach a save point, is glory. I've done it!, You think. Because this game has no state Save / Load state as Kaizo Mario.

I Want to Be The Guy has four levels of difficulty. Medium is the simplest, and is where it forces you to use a gay bow tie, you save points every two screens and many of them say "Wuss." The following is Hard, and is the default. All save points say Wuss away, and raisins to have save points every 3 or 4 screens. Very Hard got the where and save points are reduced to two per stage, and have the Impossible, where you have none.

And yes, when I speak of none, I mean you have to spend the entire game with only life. The only save point exists, and I can not check because I never got there impossible, is that right before the final boss ... And you have many opportunities to kill you. On the other hand, this save point is the extensive size of 1 pixel.

The story is very simple. You incarnate to The Kid, armed with a gun and a coat donated by his grandfather, will strive to become The Guy. However this is not limiting to put a very difficult game, just the height of the greats.

Are you a good gamer? Do you have experience in tough games? Have you overcome the challenges of GTA4 without I have touched even once? Do you have to show your friends that you are the best? Try I Want to Be The Guy. Be humble, and always learned that to be the best there is a long way to go.

Ah, of course, the game is not impossible to turn ... because I already did. And IWBTG community is a madman who turned it impossible. When you hear the original author, his response was "I estai weando."

Ya, when the links. Here the link to the download page . The complete set weighs 70 MB. Why so heavy? Well, listen to the OST is amazing, that even when encrypted within the. Exe, comes in MP3 format, with 26 songs.
Enjoy!

inb4 "I have no patience for these games."

Ah, indeed. The game runs very well in Ubuntu / Mint with wine.

Red Bump With Red Circle Around It On Arm

without compositing

Several people have criticized me if I want a stylish desktop, why not use Compiz or I switch to KDE. When I say that my graphics chipset does not run any 3D compositing system, feel sorry for me. But when I say that I've always liked KDE over Gnome, usually get a "bah" as if to say I'm a fan of a relatively ugly desktop theme of earth tones and brown (Thanks, Ubuntu).

However, the earth tones have never been to my total satisfaction (except in a couple of occasions in which I mixed with green). And throughout my life testing the Gnome desktop environment, I have found many ways to highlight the theme of the rest. Now, let's think well: Why should those who can not (or who do not want to) use a 3D compositing system we must resign ourselves to a few ugly issues and simple desktop?

Gnome I have to leave aside and try another desktop environment if you want something complete and cute? No.
Here I will demonstrate how to configure a Gnome in 4 different ways, none of these cases require different add-ons to the default Gnome brings. And of course these are just a starting point; from there you can go putting together your own or mixed. It is the grace of free software, you configure as you want.

Ah, indeed. To install themes downloaded from gnome-look or some such website, you must drag the file. Tar.gz to the Desktop Themes window. Should not be. Tar.gz, extract the contents to ~ /. Themes. The icons are in ~ /. Icons. First

style.
Gnondows XP

This style has similarities with Windows XP either. Served for those accustomed to the system but want to feel some difference.
All I can say is that is the difficult to assemble, and the ugliest of all. It is done as follows.

first thing is to have one toolbar at the bottom of your screen. In its properties, modify it so that is 26 pixels wide. Once removed all elements of it, you click the right mouse button and "Add to panel." That will add the following:
- Clock, to the extreme right.
- Trash, right next to the clock
- Forcing the closure, along with the trash. This applet in more than one occasion has helped me recover the PC when a program is hung.
- Volume control.
- Notification Area. I consider this element important in any desktop.
- Main Menu. Put it on the far left.
- Show Desktop. Along the Main Menu. Next to show desktop
can add any program you'd like to open fast. Firefox is a good idea.
Once done, add "Window List."

missing one step: The icon for the "start menu." Get out any of the Internet and save it where you do not mind or what you are going to eliminate error. In my case, I use it . Pressing Alt + F2 and run gconf-editor . This program is a "regedit" for Gnome.

Go to Apps> Panel> Objects. One of the subkeys there has the value "object_type" and "menu-object." A key that activate it "use_custom_icon", and "custom_icon" writes the image path to the button you will. In my case, / home / victor / .menu.png.

If you typed the route, the mere fact of pressing ENTER, the icon will change immediately. Lack
latest: Right click on the desktop, and "Change desktop background." The desktop theme is Clearlooks, the icon theme is "Human-Blue" and the window border is Aurora. The wallpaper I took from here . Second

style.
the Hamster Candy Candy
This style is instantly appealing because it is too different from what we would see in a normal system. Even under Windows. Just download and use.
- Download the wallpaper from here .
- Download and install the Metacity theme from here.
- Download the pack of icons from here.
- The desktop theme used is "Clearlooks".

Third style.

Cakes

Download the theme from here . The wallpaper is linked from there self-requires free registration.
And get off the pack of icons Hydroxygen . Yes, it's a pretty big pack (72 MB), but is quite comprehensive.

room style.

Oh mai gosh, OpenSUSE ...! Well, no.

This desktop theme is also very easy to assemble, because it is coming, download and install each component. Further, we have it in four delicious flavors: blue, green, brown stool and pink. Back off from here .
The icon pack is Human Blue.

And indeed, as a bonus track, a final tweak is graphic, and I highly recommend this. I do not know if you have noticed that using sudo distros such as Debian, Ubuntu and Mint, at the time of login as root (or, in other words, when the program asks for administrator password), it looks ugly. A crude visual style, similar to Windows 95 first beta. Modify the root account does not work. What can you do?

Well, thank cihodapp in the Linux Mint forums, I learned how to make the root account using the same desktop theme. So, finally Synaptic will look cute.
Open the console and type the following command:

sudo rm-r / root / .themes / root / .fonts / root / .icons & & sudo ln-s ~ /. Themes / root / .themes & & sudo ln-s ~ /. fonts / root / .fonts & & sudo ln-s ~ /. icons / root / .icons

These commands (four commands are performed in a single line, separated by & &) deleted "Desktop Themes" from the root, and replace them with symlinks to those of your own, so now the root account share your own desktop themes, fonts and preferences. Happy

eye-candy!

Top 10 Low Light Hd Prosumer Camcorder

Hi everyone present. Greetings to my fellow Argentines celebrate their day tomorrow.

Friends. I want all of us think for a time. Tell me what services Google offers us today.

There are many more, but we know Google Scholar, Google Alerts, Google Toolbar, Google Blog Search, Google Book search, Google Chrome, Google Desktop, Google Directory, Google Web Search, Google Chrome, Google Earth, Google Images, Blogger , Google Calendar, Google Docs, Gmail, Google Groups, Orkut, Picasa, Google Reader, Google SketchUp, Google Android, Google Talk and Google's translator. All these services are intended to facilitate our work with the web, or work with the data we have (with the exception of SketchUp).

What's missing from Google? Although many do not bother us, Google is seriously starting to dominate the world. However, Google still was missing a step, to say that right was on its way toward meeting this goal:

An operating system.

And that is precisely the step taken (or are given). Google Chrome OS would become the newest of Google, an open source operating system based on Linux, originally aimed at netbooks, but would also serve to any desktop.

Ok. But ... What's interesting? I mean, most Linux distros by default bring a customized Google search engine the browser. One is available with the package managers thousand Google services and utilities (I suggest you test the GDesklets, are the repositories of Debian, Ubuntu and Mint). What else can we offer a Google OS, that makes us think it is not just another Linux distro like any other?

Well, besides the fact that the tools will default this company, we have the premise that they want it on the market, with an announcement that it's official.

"We heard a lot of our users, and their message is clear: Computers need to improve. People want to watch your e-mail instantly, without wasting time waiting for the computer starts and the browser is started. They want their computers run as fast as the first time they bought it. They want to make information accessible and not worry about losing your computer or forget to do backups. Even more important, they do not want to spend hours configuring their computers to work with all new pieces of hardware, or worrying about ongoing software updates. "

is a great goal. Do you expect to have an operating system initiate and carry your GUI very quickly, and work with ARM processor or i686 (unlike, for example, Moblin, that does not work well with AMD processors)? I think so. Or at least comes close.

Bueeeeno, but ... Imagine how it would benefit us. In case you do not want to use this OS.
What I see is going to happen:
- Google Chrome will be a major boost in development for Linux. This means that we can finally see a stable version of GC for this system soon.
- Google services will be much more prepared to integrate into the operating system. That means, for example, will hand over useful Applications are available to get and install.
- DRIVERS. A very important point. If Google comes to the proposed target would mean that the drivers for the Linux operating system would be easier to access and porting to other platforms, which with Windows drivers is not the case. So, I have a webcam, plug it in and the driver makes Google my distro and walk away. What does that sound?

Is it utopian? Do not think it is both. And the idea of \u200b\u200ban operating system dedicated to web-applications is not new. Does anyone Cloud sounds?

Sumémosle this to the fact that the PC-including laptops, come with powerful graphics, high doses of RAM and hard drive, and ports of games we already have, Unreal Tournament and Quake are the ones I'm seeing at the moment, I can start to hope that maybe one day within the next 15 years we see Microsoft in a dominant position is not creating art software for an operating system other than Windows, and where open source software is what most use.

Soñar no cuesta nada.

Wife Forced Husband Wear Sarees

Google Chrome OS Install and run Linux Mint 7/Ubuntu MyPaint Jaunty / Debian Lenny

Well, first of all be wondering ... What is MyPaint?
For those who use tablet, more than one occasion we want a program with a response and sensitivity higher than that gives us Gimp (or Photoshop). Is that the reason that those who try Paint Tool SAI (payment tool created by a Japanese company), they begin to use it to sketch even (though there are people and color with him bocetea having pretty good results.)

For Linux there is no equivalent sirecto to UPS, but we have a free tool that is not only the same spirit of good response to the sensitivity, but the proper use of brushes. And this tool is called MyPaint .

Usage is very simple and the use of a tablet is more than recommended, although you can use the mouse in this program and also get good results.

Want to try? It's pretty easy ... but not if it follows the typical regular step lower. deb of the page and install, this file simply does not work well in Ubuntu 8.10 or higher (and of course, Mint either.)

What can you do? Well ... Compile the program from source code.
No, wait, do not panic. The process is very fast and only requires two commands by typing in the console. It is done as follows. First qu

Enad, enters and download http://mypaint.intilinux.com/ mypaint-0.7.0.tar.bz2 file to your desktop. Unzip

mypaint content. This is done opening the file. tar.bz (with a double click) and dragging the folder inside of it to the desktop.
Now do a right click on the folder and "Open in Terminal".
Once in the console, type the following command:
sudo apt-get install python-gtk2-dev python-numpy scons swig
This command will install the dependencies needed to successfully compile MyPaint.
Now type: sudo
scons prefix = / usr / local install
Once finished, close the console. You should see MyPaint between imaging programs. Try it, and if all goes well, you can quietly delete the desktop folder.

Happy Art Attack!
